Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from March of the previous year.
Victory also signifies he has won 21 championships at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my children together, so to get a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first professional victory, took control to push for a third set.
Moutet rescued four early chances in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
