Christantus Uche Sparks Comfortable Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Even though entering their first-ever European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a place in the Conference League playoffs.

Another three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight entry to the knockout stages, especially after a previous setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity

This match offered a platform for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second game in match.

The Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season proved outmatched even for a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
